What is Ampicillin used for?
Ampicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections such as bladder infection, E. coli infection, ear infection, pneumonia, and gonorrhea. This medication kills the bacteria by interfering with the growth of its cell wall. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
What is the recommended dosage of Ampicillin?
The dosage of Ampicillin prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.
Take Ampicillin with a full glass of water. It should be taken on an empty stomach.
