What does Ciprofloxacin treat?

This is a medication prescribed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections which includes urinary tract infections, bone and joint infections, abdominal infections, typhoid infections, skin infections, lower respiratory tract infections, sinus infections, cystitis, and prostatitis. It belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It acts by preventing the growth of bacteria. Your physician may use this to treat other ailments based on their discretion.

Possible Side Effects

Ciprofloxacin might have some side effects but it’s not possible to anticipate them. It does not have any major side effects and the minor ones that may occur are temporary. In rare cases, there might be major side effects and immediate medical attention must be sought.

Some of the side effects could be nausea, vomiting, insomnia, nervousness, diarrhea, restlessness, drowsiness, loss of appetite, headache, and abdominal discomfort.
