Dabigatran Etexilate Mesilate is an anticoagulant medication and a direct thrombin inhibitor. This is a blood-thinning medication that is prescribed to prevent stroke or blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat) not related to heart valve disease. Your physician may use this to treat other ailments based on their discretion.
