What is Doxazosin used for?
Doxazosin is prescribed to treat high blood pressure and enlarged prostate gland. It relaxes and expands blood vessels, which in turn improves blood flow and results in lowered blood pressure. Besides, by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, Doxazosin also treats the prostate enlargement symptoms such as burning during urination, frequent urination, urinary hesitancy, and incomplete emptying of the bladder. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
What is the recommended dosage of Doxazosin?
The dosage of Doxazosin prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.
Take each dose of Doxazosin with a full glass of water. This medication can be taken with or without food.
What if you miss a dose of Doxazosin?
If your physician has instructed or directed you to take Doxazosin medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember.
