    What is Metoclopramide used for?

    Metoclopramide is used to treat the symptoms of diabetic gastroparesis such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, indigestion, persistent fullness after meals, and loss of appetite. It is also used in the short-term treatment of heartburn in people with gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD). By increasing the muscle contractions in the upper digestive tract, Metoclopramide aids the passage of food. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

    What is the recommended dosage of Metoclopramide?

    The dosage of Metoclopramide prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

    Take Metoclopramide on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before a meal.

    What if you miss a dose of Metoclopramide?

    If your physician has instructed or directed you to take Metoclopramide medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses unless otherwise directed.
