Metronidazole

Metronidazole is an antibacterial medication used to treat infections of the vagina, stomach, skin, brain, blood, bones, joints, lung, heart, and respiratory tract. It belongs to a class of antibiotics known as nitroimidazoles. Metronidazole works by stopping the growth of bacteria and protozoa in your body.

The dosage of Metronidazole prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

Metronidazole can be taken with or without food.

Missed Dose of Metronidazole

If your physician has instructed or directed you to take Metronidazole medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses unless otherwise directed.

Overdose of Metronidazole
