Give your coffee a healthy boost!

Most of us can’t do without our morning cup of coffee. Here’s how you can enrich it with vitamins and anti-oxidants. It’s surprising how adding such simple ingredients can keep you healthy.

Power up your coffee with cinnamon

Sprinkle cinnamon on to your coffee and soak in the benefits. It’s good for your heart, brain and lowers the risk of cancer. It also boosts your immune system.  You can also mix 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon into your cup of coffee or brew it with 1 tsp. of cinnamon mixed with the grounds.

      Tackle muscle pain with ginger

You can add ginger powder directly to your coffee to enjoy a spicy, aromatic flavor. You can also perk up your coffee with slices of ginger.  This helps you to digest foods better, brings down cholesterol and reduces muscle pain.

      Feel happier with cacao

Chocolate and coffee love each other but when you make it raw cacao, the benefits grow bigger. This is a superfood that’s filled with antioxidants and has the highest iron content in a plant. This bring downs blood pressure besides increasing HDL (good) cholesterol and lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol.  This is good for the brain and a great mood-enhancer and anti-depressant.

Add a dash of maca to balance hormones

Maca root powder has been known to help balance hormones for ages and improve fertility. Adding this to your cup of coffee charges up your sex drive and energy levels. You can use 1 to 3 teaspoons a day. Improve the shelf life of maca powder by storing it in the fridge.

      Mix in the turmeric

Turmeric is a powerful antioxidant and is a spice that offers diverse health benefits ranging from aiding digestion, helping liver detoxification, having anti-inflammatory properties to treating depression. A pinch of pepper can further enrich it.
