Breathing problems that you must never ignore!
Quality breathing is very important to maintain good health and keep our bodies well oxygenated. Many of us tend to be careless when we have issues that impact our breathing. It’s important to stay aware and get these sorted at the earliest.
When you have a cold or flu, a thick, wet cough is common. However, this may not always be the case, it can also be a symptom of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD.) Smoking is the biggest culprit that causes this condition. Polluted air, toxic chemicals and second-hand smoke may also be cause for this.
If you find that there is a high-pitched whistling sound when you breathe in or out, this is a sign that the airways have become narrow. Usually, this is caused by asthma but an infection or allergic reaction can result in this as well.
Feel shortness of breath when active
If you are anemic, the body would not have enough iron, and this is important to distribute oxygen throughout your body. Anemia can also make you feel short of breath or experience chest pain when you exercise. Check if you are anemic and add more iron to your diet is you have these symptoms. Anemia is common amongst vegetarians and vegans.
Sometimes chest pain may be the result of having pulled a muscle, but this is not always the case. It could point to something more serious as well. In case, you have chest pain for over 15 minutes or spreads to other parts of your body, experience nausea, sweat, or cough up blood, then you might be experiencing a heart attack. If you have chest pain after a workout or after facing a stressful situation, this can be due to angina, a condition where the heart muscles do not get enough blood.
