      Foods that improve liver health

Our liver is a very important organ in the body. It is responsible for breaking down carbohydrates, converting it into glucose, and detoxing the body. It also stocks up nutrients and produces bile which is essential to digest and absorb various nutrients properly.

You will be surprised to know that coffee can actually improve the health of your liver. Coffee helps to protect the liver from diverse problems like fatty liver disease. Consuming coffee daily can help cut down the risk of chronic liver disease.

Choose to eat dark berries like blueberries, raspberries, and cranberries which have antioxidants called polyphenols. These play a big role in protecting the liver from damage.

This is another fruit which promotes liver health by reducing inflammation and this stopping liver damage. This could be due to the fact that grapes, grape juice, and grape seeds are rich in antioxidants.

Oats is a great way to add a whole lot of fiber to your diet. Fiber helps the digestive process and some of the fibers specific to oats are good for the liver.  Oats and oatmeal are abundant in compounds known as beta-glucans that can cut down the quantity of fat stored in the liver. Choose steel cut oats or whole oats rather than choosing prepackaged oatmeal which may have additives such as flour and sugars.

      Green tea

Green tea has a whole host of health benefits and one of the salient ones are that it can help with weight loss by reducing the overall fat content, fight against oxidative stress, and also cut down other signs of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

Garlic has been known to stimulate the liver. It offers the benefits of cutting down fat and reducing body weight in those with NAFLD.
