Learn to overcome a negative experience

Put it behind you
After a negative experience, most of us tend to re-run it in our minds many times. This will only make things worse. Once the experience is over, put it behind you. See what you can learn from it and take this as a life lesson and move on.
Deal with your emotions
A bad situation can bring out the worst in you, anger, guilt, sadness and so on are some of the emotions that you may go through. Accept that these emotions are not going to help and calm yourself done.
Better your social bonds
During a negative experience, one feels like retreating into a shell. However, it’s good to talk things over with trusted friends or family. This can help you come out of it faster.
Connect to the past
When something bad happens, it could undermine us, make us lose self-confidence and even identity. This is the time to look back at the positive memories of your past especially achievements and tough situations that you overcame. This will help you boost your confidence and gain courage to move ahead.
Learn new skills
Learn something new, perhaps a skill like photography or tennis that you always wanted to acquire but never got round to doing. This can take your mind away from damaging thoughts and put you on the path to recovery.
Moving to the future
The path to recovery is one step at a time, sit down and plan what needs priority and work out a plan. This will help you ease yourself into the future.
