Ranbaxy Launches Generic Esomeprazole Drug in the UK
Ranbaxy (UK) Ltd has launched generic esomeprazole tablets in the UK, which is offered in the strengths of 20mg and 40mg. Esomeprazole is an anti-ulcer drug used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger–Ellison syndrome. It helps in reducing the acid secretion in the stomach. Esomeprazole belongs to a group of medications called proton pump inhibitors.
Ranbaxy (UK) Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, is one of the major international pharmaceutical companies that manufactures a wide range of generic drugs, including gastroenterology, anti-inflammatory, anti-infective and cardiovascular medicines. Ranbaxy’s esomeprazole is the first approved generic version of ‘Nexium’ in the UK market, which is manufactured by AstraZeneca.
