What is Beclomethasone dipropionate–Phenylephrine hydrochloride–Lidocaine hydrochloride used for?

Beclomethasone dipropionate–Phenylephrine hydrochloride–Lidocaine hydrochloride is a rectal cream used to treat pain and bleeding caused by conditions such as anal fissures, hemorrhoids (piles), post-hemorrhoidectomy and mild proctitis (an inflammation of the anus and the lining of the rectum). This topical cream (applied on the skin) provides relief from pain, discomfort, burning, swelling, itching and irritation around the anus.

Beclomethasone dipropionate–Phenylephrine hydrochloride–Lidocaine hydrochloride is a fixed dose combination product that contains 3 medications: Beclomethasone dipropionate (a corticosteroid), Phenylephrine hydrochloride (a topical sympathomimetic agent) and Lidocaine hydrochloride (an anesthetic agent). This anti-hemorrhoidal cream works by shrinking rectal blood vessels around the hemorrhoid.

Beclomethasone dipropionate–Phenylephrine hydrochloride–Lidocaine hydrochloride may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

What is the recommended dosage of Beclomethasone dipropionate–Phenylephrine hydrochloride–Lidocaine hydrochloride?

The dosage of Beclomethasone dipropionate–Phenylephrine hydrochloride–Lidocaine hydrochloride prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

Apply a small amount of Beclomethasone dipropionate–Phenylephrine hydrochloride–Lidocaine hydrochloride onto the affected area. Apply the medicine by using the applicator or as directed by your physician. Use the cream before and after each bowel movement.
