What is Bethanechol 25mg used for?

Bethanechol 25mg is used to treat urinary retention resulting from surgery, drugs, post-delivery of a baby, or weakness in certain bladder muscles. Bethanechol is also used to treat nerve problems in the urinary bladder. Bethanechol works by stimulating the bladder muscle to contract and this improves urine flow, thereby relieving difficulties in urinating or emptying the bladder completely.

Bethanechol may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

What are the side effects of Bethanechol 25mg?

Like other medicines, Bethanechol 25mg can cause some side effects. If they do occur, the side effects of Bethanechol are most likely to be minor and temporary. However, some may be serious and may require the individual to inform the doctor or visit the nearest hospital immediately.
