What does Disulfiram treat?

Disulfiram is a medication prescribed to treat chronic alcoholism. This belongs to the class of alcohol antagonists. It works by blocking the processing of alcohol by the body. Your physician may use this to treat other ailments based on their discretion.

Possible Side Effects

Disulfiram might have some side effects but it’s not possible to anticipate them. It does not have any major side effects and the minor ones that may occur are temporary. In rare cases, there might be major side effects and immediate medical attention must be sought.

Some of the side effects could be headache, garlic-like aftertaste, tiredness, drowsiness and acne. This is not the complete list though.

It may also interact with tricyclic antidepressants and monoamine oxidase inhibitors. This is not an exhaustive list though.
