Generic for Frusol* (Furosemide) is a loop diuretic (water pill) that is used to treat fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, or a kidney disorder such as nephrotic syndrome. Generic for Frusol* prevents your body from absorbing too much salt, and thus removes excess salt and water from the body through urine. This medication is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
