What is Generic for Ortho-Gynest* used for?

Generic for Ortho-Gynest* (Estriol) cream is a topical short-term hormone replacement therapy (HRT) used to treat atrophic vaginitis, a vaginal symptom of the menopause. This vaginal cream helps relieve atrophic vaginitis symptoms such as vaginal discharge/dryness/burning/itching, superficial dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse) and urinary tract infection.

Generic for Ortho-Gynest* cream is prescribed for the treatment of estrogen deficiency symptoms. This cream helps restore the natural balance of estrogen in the body, and thus relieves the vaginal symptoms that occur after menopause.

Generic for Ortho-Gynest* cream is also used to treat vaginal tissues before and after vaginal surgery (vaginal prolapse) in the postmenopausal women. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

What is the recommended dosage of Generic for Ortho-Gynest*?

The dosage of Generic for Ortho-Gynest* prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

Generic for Ortho-Gynest* cream is for topical use (intravaginal use) only. Apply the cream into the vagina, preferably before going to sleep at night.

What if you miss a dose of Generic for Ortho-Gynest*?

If your physician has instructed or directed you to use Generic for Ortho-Gynest* medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses to catch up for the missed dose.

What if you overdose on Generic for Ortho-Gynest*?

Any medication used in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose of Generic for Ortho-Gynest*, seek medical attention immediately.
