What is Granisetron used for?

Granisetron is an anti-emetic medication used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer drug treatment (chemotherapy and radiation therapy). It belongs to the class of medications called 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. This medicine works by blocking a natural substance in the body called serotonin, which can cause nausea and vomiting. What is the recommended dosage of Granisetron?

The dosage of Granisetron prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

What if you miss a dose of Granisetron?

It is pertinent to note that side effects of Granisetron cannot be anticipated. If any side effects of Granisetron develop or change in intensity, the doctor should be informed as soon as possible.
