What is Mupirocin 2% Ointment used for?
Mupirocin 2% Ointment is an antibiotic ointment used to treat or prevent certain bacterial skin infections such as impetigo. This topical (applied onto the skin) medication works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
What are the side effects of Mupirocin 2% Ointment?
Like other medicines, Mupirocin 2% Ointment can cause some side effects. If they do occur, the side effects of Mupirocin are most likely to be minor and temporary. However, some may be serious and may require the individual to inform the doctor or visit the nearest hospital immediately.
It is pertinent to note that side effects of Mupirocin cannot be anticipated. If any side effects of Mupirocin develop or change in intensity, the doctor should be informed as soon as possible.
