What is Sumatriptan used for?
Sumatriptan is prescribed for the treatment of an acute migraine attack with or without aura. It works by reducing the swelling of blood vessels around the brain. This medicine helps relieve migraine symptoms such as headaches, pain, sensitivity to light/sound, nausea, and vomiting. It belongs to a group of drugs called triptans.
