What is Generic for Synthroid* used for?

Generic for Synthroid* (Levothyroxine) is used to treat hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone). This medicine helps reduce the symptoms of low thyroid hormone such as sensitivity to cold, weight gain, dry skin, and lack of energy. Levothyroxine is also used to treat or prevent goiter (enlarged thyroid gland) caused by hormone imbalances, surgery, cancer, or radiation treatment. Besides, this medication is prescribed for thyroiditis, thyroid cancer, and thyroid nodules. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

What is the recommended dosage of Generic for Synthroid*?
